David E. Valcheck DVM, MS

Originally from Southern California, Dr. Valcheck was raised training Welsh ponies and was privileged to work with some of the top trainers in the state. He continued his love of animals by graduating from UC Davis with a Master's Degree in Equine Reproduction. After beginning his Veterinary career with Bradshaw Veterinary Clinic, he founded Valcheck Veterinary Clinic with his wife, Joy. Although he has a keen interest for Equine Lameness, Dentistry and Reproduction, there is nothing more satisfying than having a client and patient on the path to good health and fun times. His spare time is enjoyed spending time with his family and utilizing re-purposed materials for construction projects.

Why Us?

Valcheck Veterinary Clinic strives to bring the most current therapies that have been shown to be effective through research and practical experience.  Family owned and operated business!

Joy Valcheck

Originally from Atascadero, CA, Joy first met Dr. Valcheck while they were both living in San Luis Obispo and the rest is history, as they say. Displaying her many talents and abilities, Joy manages both the office and the family farm as well. In her spare time, she enjoys showing her mule, Dolly, in western divisions and driving.

Casey Valcheck

The oldest of Dave and Joy, Casey has been instrumental in assisting with fleet maintenance. He has also been a great asset in running the family farm and managing their newly planted pistachio orchard. Casey graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Plant Science.  He is currently working in the agriculture industry.

Morgan Valcheck

Morgan has been actively involved in 4H, raising steers and various other livestock. As animals are an intricate part of the family, she gained a vast knowledge of husbandry and animal handling. She puts this to great use assisting her dad in the summertime. She also helps with the family farm from feeding the animals to monitoring irrigation. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science from University of Nevada, Reno as an agriculture science major with an animal emphasis.  Morgan is attending the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and will graduate in 2024.
